After attending other events for a few years we decided to host our own. Thank you to ACMH and the Laube Cancer Center for graciously hosting the event as well as classes. Thank you to Patriot Wellness Center for supplying the beverages!

Celestial Crane Taijiquan & Qigong students from various locations joined instructor Bob Correll and numerous other practitioners to celebrate the day. The event was held at the beautiful William D. Ford Senior Activity in Taylor, Michigan. Various forms were performed including Yang, Sun, staff, fan, silking reeling ball and the ever popular Five Elements Salsa Form. As usual, the group energy was dynamic. Many agreed that this was our best World T'ai Chi Day yet and appreciated the healing energies during these difficult times. The event was ended with the Shaolin meditation "Standing like Reed." We all departed with that internal glow and feeling of unity that are particular to our art forms. World T'ai Chi & Qigong Day 2009 Worldwide Event SATURDAY April 25, 2009 10 AM - 12 Noon Brighton High School 1150 Winton Rd. S. Rochester, NY 14618 Many local groups observed our 8th annual celebration with group exhibition beginning at 10 am at the Brighton High School hosted by The Rochester T’ai Chi Ch’uan Center. Several styles of T’ai Chi and QiGong exercises were exhibited by their teachers and students, followed by demonstrations. The Ching-Fen Lee Dancers performed traditional Chinese dance. It was a gorgeous day to play tai chi. We began our warmups seated in the shade. We moved out by a lake under a lovely tree to play tai chi. A refreshing breeze blew over us as we enjoyed the blue skies and greenery. As we turned north, we could see an occasional tiger walk past. Truly a unique experience. We were able to raise $200 for Big Cat Rescue and raise awareness of their work. Find out more at www.bigcatrescue.org.

Our WTCQD was met with excitement and anticipation. There were two schools present. The Redline Fight Sports school participated in Tai Chi and the Apricot Forest Hall demonstrated Qigong. The flow of energy from Tai Chi and Qigong made our WTCQD an amazing and wonderful day.
